I did see this on page 12: "The government’s objective is that CPIH will become its headline measure over time and that it will reduce the use of RPI when and where practicable."
It doesn't talk about CPIH replacing CPI - maybe I'm reading too much into it?0 -

The papers had lots on pension reform which was going to happen - such as moving to a shared Dutch style DC scheme. None of which happened.0

A surprisingly big move on the personal allowance and higher rate bands.
Very much looks like a budget keeping the option of an early election open.0 -

I don't think personal attacks like that- calling the BBC Political Editor 'hideous' is worthy of this board. Shame on you.
First time I have ever switched channels midst an election broadcast. No apologies for switching off the radio and TV whenever Ms 'I am left wing and wish to make it common knowledge' is asked for her opinion.
If I wanted biased opinion I would subscribe to a politically affiliated newspaper. What I despise most about her is her pretence of neutrality.
Shame on her.0 -

Really disappointed no measure to tackle climate change...another missed opportunity. What's the point in long term investing if there's nothing but a wasteland that remains?0

Less expensive than it appears because employers will just hire fewer people than they would otherwise have done.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
Ah, so that's why you are always banging on about Gordon Brown as if he were still Chancellor ;-)
I bang on about Gordon partly because I knew him when we were young. But mainly because in my view he was a much worse Chancellor than people reckon, and a much better PM. Of course he had one outstanding advantage as PM - he wasn't Blair.Free the dunston one next time too.0
