County Claim form - help please

Options
Hi
Firstly I appologise if I have started a new thread unnessasarily. I have used the forums in the background to help me navigate my way through whats happening now.
In April last year I allegedly overstayed in a car park by approx 20 mins according to Britannia parking. I appealed to POPLA straight away who sided as the evidence provided was just white nose off paper, they sided with Britannia and then followed with evidence via photo that I stayed longer that valid...I then requested video footage as I was certain I did not. I didn’t received anything else.
All the way through I have stated that I am happy to pay what I owe but wanted the evidence...since then I have just been bombarded with letters from ‘specialists’ in legal recovery. It’s been passed through numerous agencies and it’s now with BW legal. The cost has gone from £60, £135, £140, £160 and now £245. I know I need to respond to the claim letter but I am struggling woth my response. If I did overstay my welcome then I have always said I will pay, I have ignored because of all the threatening letters sent...I’ve obviously naively ignored as I now have the county claim form letter. Please could someone advise what might be the best course of action please?

What do you mean by a county court letter? Is it a letter threatening county court or a claim form from the county court?

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Read up there on how to deal with Court claims (,or a Lbcca if that's what you actually have received)

#2 in the FAQ covers advice on Court claims right through from the receipt of the lbcca to the hearing

£245 is far more than the law allows. Even if they were to win their
claim in court, the most a judge would award them is not likely to exceed £200.

Is a solicitor involved? If so complain to the SRA that they are trying to
obtain monies to which there is no entitlement, fraud?

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed in the house as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an
    M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the House of Commons recently

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.

I'll assume you mean that you now have a Claim Form from the County Court Business Centre?

    Is that right?

What is the Date of Issue printed on your Claim Form?
