Need barclays bank statements from 2003 to 2009

Options
Hello, it's a Sunday so their helpline are closed. I was wondering whether it's possible to get statements from barclays for the years above just for the month of August.

I need it for a card protection insurance claim. I have the statements online from 2010 onwards. Curious as to whether barclays would keep these older statements as they're not required by law to supply them.

These are for a direct debit payment. Not sure if that changes anything

Martin on his show when he talks about PPI always says 6 years.

Barclays may be different and I have a sneaking suspicion that if someone in a bank IT team had an issue they could find an old DDS4 tape somewhere at the back of a safe.

But I don't think you'll have any luck.

The service is CPP limited, and they are still in business and have just taken payment this August.

Is it worth trying to give CPP a call and ask for payment history?

Very unlikely that Barclays would have at least some of those years, if not all. And even if they did they would probably be able to argue that the cost of retrieving the data would mean that they wouldn't have to comply even if you submitted a SAR.

If you're trying to claim this back for mis-sale, your ship sailed ages ago. The complaint is likely timebarred.

If you're able to call CPP you can however issue a complaint about why you feel it was mis-sold directly to them. You don't need payment history to do this. It is extremely unlikely that Barclays hold anything going back to 2009, let alone 2003.

according to :money: it's not barred from my OH.

She was sold it in 2003, cpp redress only contacted customers who joined after 2005, the MSE article suggests it can be claimable for my OH, because she was not notified.

Martin is not infallible, however. What is the reason that you were mis-sold?

As it's no longer Sunday surely the answer is obvious?

The subject at hand is that if they have them they have them, but they probably don't as it was between 9 and 15 years ago when statements are only kept usually for around 6 years, sometimes longer.

The real issue though is your complaint about mis-sale doesn't actually need bank statements or proof of payment. It does need a reason for the product to be mis-sold. I looked through some FOS cases earlier and people were being rejected even on pre-2005 cases as although they'd taken out a CPP product before 2005, they'd renewed the policy after 2005 which was treated as falling under the now-closed redress scheme.

Well I've read through various notes, already have a thread on here about it. So there's no need to drag the topic onto here.

I need to know the exact figure that was paid in order to ascertain what to claim for. Which is why I need the bank statements. Failing that. I do have 8 years of payment history to hand so I will assume the sum taken in the 7 years prior is the same as the earliest year I have the amount for.
