VW Up! problem with lights

Right-hand side front side light was out (DRL still working), so OH changed the bulb, but it still won't work and also discovered that right-hand rear tail light isn't working. Does anyone know if these two are connected?

I took the car to Halford this morning and they replaced the rear bulbs, but still not working.

Bit fed up with the clocks going back yesterday.

Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience with a bl00dy VW Up!

It's not parked with the sidelights on, ignition off and left indicator on, by any chance?

No, not at all. Weird because a couple of weeks ago the left hand side DRL packed up and OH replace that bulb. Then a couple of days ago noticed that right hand side light is out, so got another bulb but no luck and then realized that right hand side tail light is out as well.

As it is obviously not bulb related (Halfords man said so after replacing them all), it must be something horribly expensive:(

The guy at Halfords wasn't sure which fuse it was, so suggested I contact my local VW dealer, which is what I suppose I will have to do.
