McDonald's / ukpc - safe to admit to branch manager I was the driver?

Hi
So I received a notice through the post yesterday from ukpc that I overstayed in a McDonald's car park by 25 mins. I was in the restaurant the whole time with a friend, unfortunately I don't have a receipt. It was not a busy time (the car park was half empty) and it was a totally legitimate visit.
As per the newbies guide I've lodged my appeal to ukpc and marked myself as the keeper not the driver. I was thinking of phoning the McDonald's branch manager to try and get this cancelled directly but wondered if there's any risk in admitting to them that I was in the restaurant and therefore revealing myself as the driver? Could this information get back to ukpc and harm my appeal?
Alternatively I do nothing and just go through the appeal process.
Thanks

If it's just a phone conversation do you think the manage will be remotely interested in the differentiation between a registered keeper, a driver or a passenger, when he'll have his work cut out to fry the next pan of chips.
Just keep it natural. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
