Ensuite bathroom refit - installation quote

Options
Hi,

We are having our en-suite bathroom replaced.
We've bought the bathroom through Wickes using one of their design consultants and have had the following quote for installation.
It's a little more expensive than we were expecting.
Would be grateful to hear any thoughts.
We live in Sussex.
Thanks :)

INSTALLATION PRICE GUIDE
£250 RIP OUT AND REMOVAL
£260 SHOWER TRAY & SHOWER SCREEN
£210 ACRYLIC PANELS
£170 THERMOSTATIC MIXER SHOWER
£315 FIT 5x UNITS
£260 FIT SINK & TAPS
£250 FIT WC
£60 FIT LED MIRROR INCLUDING POWER SUPPLY
£TO BE DISCUSSED RECESS BOXES IN VOID
£198 REMOVE 11 metres WALL TILING
£390 FIT 8 Metres NEW WALL TILES
£150 SUPPLY AND FIT 3x SUITABLE IP RATED LED FLUSH CEILING LIGHTS
£374 SUPPLY AND FIT ELEC ONLY T.R. (£184 SUPPLY CHROME TOWEL RAIL 1800mm H x 600mm W +£70 THERMOSTATIC ELEMENT +£20 FLUID £100 FIT)
£2,887.00 TOTAL FITTING COST

POINTS TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION
1). WC/BASIN RUN IS MARGINALLY TOO TIGHT FOR UNITS SO LEFT HAND SIDE OD WC UNIT WILL NEED TO BE TRIMMED
2). WALLS MAY NEED TO BE REPAIRED AT A SLIGHT ADDITIONAL COST WHEN TILES REMOVED AS THEY APPEAR TO BE OF A PLASTERBOARD TYPE CONSTRUCTION.
3). REMOVAL OF FLOOR TILING OVER UNDERFLOOR HEATING WOULD BE AT CUSTOMERS RISK AND IS NOT RECOMMENDED, ALTERNATIVE FLOOR COVERING SUCH AS A GOOD QUALITY VINYL WOULD BETTER SUIT THIS INSTALLATION OR OVER-TILE AND HAVE SLIGHT STEP IN DOORWAY.

Comments

  • Looks OK to me - we have recently had our en suite re-done and for supply+fit it came to £6500 (which, before I started getting all my quotes in, would have seemed like a hugely expensive price to me). I'm in Hampshire.
  • Total looks about right based on quotes we have had.

Similar amount of work, except we had more tiling, quotes were around 3.5k in VAT.

I'm out of touch with pricing though, and it's interesting to see it broken down.

Ours came in at 8k in total, which before we got quotes I was expecting 4-5k

About right having looked at it.
