Black Horse PPI

Options
Hi,
I am a newbie and not posted on here before.
I would just like some advice please.
I filled out a ppi form on black horse website and they show as being under Lloyd’s bank.
I don’t know much about ppi and wanted to find out if I ever had it. I took out car finance through a car dealership in 2013 and Black Horse were the finance people.
I received a call from black horse they said they will look for my loan and asked how much it was for. Anyway I got a letter from Lloyd’s bank saying that’s they can’t find a Lloyd’s bank loan account in my name and attached a 14 page questionnaire about the payment protection insurance. I have no idea what to put for some of the answers and they did say we understand you might not be able to answer all. Thing is I can’t remember if I was sold it as I can’t find any details of it in my agreement.
Also do I complain to them or the car dealership and would it be worth using 3rd party to see if I had it as I don’t really know what I am doing?
I used the resolver tool that Money Saving expert recommended for DFS as I thought o might had ppi on my sofa but turned out I didn’t as I didn’t pay any interest.

You complain to whoever sold it to you, not the lender.

You never use a 3rd party.

It's highly unlikely you were sold PPI in 2013.

If you can't find it on the paperwork, you don't have it.
The card dealership is responsible for the sale, not the provider, so Black Horse have no liability.
If you think you did have PPI [ and as you say it's not on the paperwork, so unlikely], the thing to do would be to complain to the car dealership.

If you are unable to personally ask the car dealership if you had it, by letter, e-mail or phone, then by all means, use a company.

This leads to a couple of things.

1 - 2013 - Most places had stopped selling the bad types of PPI by then. Black Horse state they ended the sale of PPI in 2010. So, if you did have it in 2013, then you didnt buy it via Black Horse.
2 - The car dealer is responsible for any sale. Not Black Horse. Unless the car dealer is an authorised representative of Black Horse or Black Horse kept an employee in the car dealer.

2013 car sale almost certainly would be:

    Gap
    Paint cover
    Alloy cover
    Internal coverings treatment

It is not going to be PPI in 2013

All of which were optional, all of which you could refuse and all of which you could, even in pressured in the dealership, cancel in writing upon leaving

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

You won't have been mis-sold PPI five years ago. It's too recent.
