Hi All,
Im looking for information on picking up passengers from Manchester Airport, specifically Terminal 3. Ive read that there are no longer free pick up areas and that everyone is now charged £3 for 5 mins or £4 for 10 mins etc... at dedicated pick up areas.
Just wondering if there are any alternative options which don't include paying a surcharge and is just as convenient for picking passengers up from.
Any tips and tricks much appreciated.
Regards.

From my experience in the summer drivers were stopping on access roads, on hatched areas, around the T2 development access roads to drop off and pick up to avoid the charges.0

Check the Manchester airport web site. Tells you all about free drop off and different options and charges for picking up.0

Walk a mile or so from the airport ,good exercise after been sat for hours in a cramped seat. That until they mine the footpaths or get rid of them.0

You could always get dropped off just outside the long stay car parks (official ones) then just get on the free bus to the terminal but its a lot of faffing about to save £3Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0

I don't know about Manchester airport. Do they only have one off airport car park and one shuttle bus?
At Gatwick, the bus drivers often check that you have the ticket receipt from the car park before you get on. They do it to make sure you're on the right bus as there are many car parks but it would prevent you just cadging a free lift.0 -
For picking up, it costs £4 but you get 30 minutes. If you do not want to risk going over 30 minutes, you can wait near the airport until the people you are picking up have their luggage. They then call you - you drive to the car park, they walk to the car park, and you meet in the car park.0

Thank you for everyones suggestions. I will just go ahead and wait outside the airport until they are at the front doors and then pick them up to reduce the amount of time I'm being charged for sitting on manchester airports expensive tarmac :rotfl:
