Underlay for solid wood floor

Can anyone tell me what type of underlay I should use for the floor we are having replaced. The builder is going to pull up the floorboards and replace them but I think it might be a good idea to put in some insulation/underlay aswell (thermal/acoustic). We get loads of draughts from the existing floor and I don't want to get the same this time. Also I think sound from next door travels through them. Any advice would be gratefully received!
I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Sorry cannot help you with what to use.
But ask your builder about air movement under the floor.
It sounds like you are in a flat, so it might not matter.
In a house i think it might have to stay clear so the air can flow through the air brick.
Do you have any air bricks at the back or front?0 -
Go to wickes and get the felt boards. Approx £19.99 per pack, you can buy singles and return what you do not use. Felt boards also help pack uneven floors and help with insulation0

Hi Securityman
We have a house and the floor which is being replaced is on the ground floor. It's a semi and the houses were built around 1900, and the sound travels quite easily from next door. We have air bricks at both the front and back of the house.
Thanks for your help.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
we replaced out floorboards downstairs with t&g solid wood flooring, we did not bother with any underlay, and they have been down for 5 years our house is a 1930's semi and we have no problems with noise or draughts,0
