DVLA finally corrected spelling:T after final, very tongue in cheek, snail mail. Taken them only forty plus years of assorted requests - patient endurance attaineth to all things.
Thank goodness you didn't have to do anything drastic like the student who changed his name by deed poll to avoid a fine from Ryanair for changing his details with them.
I love that story!0 -
I'm 45 now and DVLA spelt my first name wrong on my very first licence and despite many attempts to get them to change it, they never have. Gave up in the end. No one has ever noticed it when inspecting it for any reason (it is a very subtle difference, just missing a letter).
Renting cars, applying for mortgage, showing to a policeman - no one has ever noticed it - so I just leave it be now!0 -
Loads of jobsworths there. Hopefully, you will speak to the right person and they will resolve.0

I used to have an exotic name. I got sick of it being mangled and changed it legally to Katy Black. Everyone can spell those (or so I thought...). Now I just get mail to Katie Black, which is still a vast improvement0

My house name was spelt wrong on my paper driving licence for around 40 years.
It only became an issue when I had to provide my driving licence to an eagle eyed solicitor one day.
He spotted it straight away..........good man.0 -

I often call him by that to take the mickey.0 -

Is there really any need for that?0
