  • Hi Greent,

thanks for popping by, blimey £8.34.... I wish! That's less than my daily interest (but we have made huge strides in that, so can't complain.).

Im so impatient I just want the whole thing gone, but it's such an uphill battle.

Must be a lovely feeling. :T

Plans today....take DD to stagecoach this morning, then 3 hours to get organised. Few bits of shopping I couldn't get yesterday, then back home to sort the house insurance and do the ironing for the week. Also serious conversations need to be have with soon to be ex OH...we need to sort things and he's doing nothing. Well, why would you move out when pretty much everything is paid for you???

    No, today is sorting day.

Doing roast dinner this afternoon, and have invited my sister. Need a nice relaxing afternoon to take my mind off work tomorrow, as it's coming into a stressful period....

Have a fabulous relaxing Sunday everyone

    :)

  • It's been a strange - and very expensive week!

OH moved out on Monday. We haven't told DD yet, she's only 6, and he's here for bedtime almost every night, so managed to keep it under wraps for now. Im not ready for that conversation, it will break her heart.

Had to tell work and there will be some impacts, but boss was fabulous. In fact I think I've been more productive tbh so bonus for them!

Im definitely more calm, and more organised, strangely, not sure why but long may that continue.

Dance class for DD this morning, and daddy's coming over to take her, so all will be normal. I shall do the shopping then meet some of the mums for a drink (non alcoholic!). They will have their LOs and I will be child free... lovely! I shall pick her up and then a very old friend is coming over., She's going through the same thing so we are propping each other up!

Been a spendy week..... house insurance (budgeted for) bought and paid, ANd now my renewal has comin £40 cheaper so I will double check the cover on them both and see if the difference is worth paying for or cancelling and putting back in the pots.

Car needed fixing - the lock was broken, £180 just to get it on the ramps, and couple of other bits.... and almost £600 later. Almost all of it was in my 'car account' which is made up just of my petrol expenses, the rest I can get from my EF. Not too much of a disaster but more than I was hoping for. At least the car looks like new again. Oh, and they cleaned it, it was filthy so that was worth £100!!!!

Ive said DD can have friends over tomorrow after stagecoach, so that's an extra 4 6/7 year olds..... eek!

Prolific looks ok, and have enough for birthdays this month meaning I will have paid nothing for DD's friends parties this month :j That's what I wsn tto achieve for the year for all friends and family... how mercenary!

Just on prolific, I saw somewhere that ~ a certain level you don't get charged to take your money out. Is that right, and does anyone know what that value is? If I can avoid charges I will, and I usually take it out at about £8….

I am finally getting some bonus from work this month, so that will fill up some pots, and next month should also be a fabulous commission payment - a deal I've worked on since June has finally dropped so I get paid for that.... that will get my savings to the level I want and provide a nice OP to my target, so will make the rest of the year more relaxing.

Fingers crossed that all works as I expect and I can then just focus on a min £660 / month payment to get me to my target for the year.....well with next month OP I should smash it.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone

  • Happy weekend all!

No further OPs in Jan as I decided to keep my little bits in the relevant pots, but I have sent £1.050 yesterday. That puts me at £1,720 so far this year and @ 21.5% of the target I had set myself.

I have a large CC bill to pay off though, so need to throw a chunk at that - probably next month when my Feb commission comes in, and I can clear whatever's remaining on that.

I've looked at numbers and I know that even on basic salary month I can afford a £501 OP. This is key as any payment over £500 makes an adjustment to either the term or the monthly payment (whichever you decide), so from now on that will be the minimum OP and the SO is set to that. I can then amend it any time upto the day before, so I can review my payslip and change it according to commission payments. :j

Incorporating this figure into my S/Sheet has taken my MF date to May 2031. Still to far into the future for me though...I'm aiming for when my current 5 year fix ends - Dec 2023. Current figures tell me I will still owe £116,059 at that point so I need to ensure I pay more than that!

Better get lunch made for LO, then drop her at dance...then shopping, back home to clean iron etc etc. At some point i want to fit in a 2 mile fast walk.... need to get healthy!

    Have a great weekend all

If you cash out on Pr0lific at £20 or more through Circle there are no fees. Less than that Circle's fees are 1% + something, I think. Paypal fees are charged at whatever you take out, if you use that method.

I set a Circle account up last week and cashed out just over £20 with no problems and transferred it to my bank account when it arrived (was about 24 hours after requested - but I had email updates to keep me informed) x

  • Thanks Greent,

I might try that then. I had never used Circle before so i was a bit wary. Always good to get recommendations. I tend to cash out at anywhere between 5 and £10 so i might try and leave it there a bit longer !

    Have a good evening

Feb payment has finally updated - down to £187,499.11 a 2k difference from last month. Interest will be a little over £300, so well and truly in the £187s...

I'm starting to feel like I am getting somewhere. Can't wait to see what the new interest payment is and what the new payment will drop to next month.

Feel like I am always living my life looking forward, and waiting for something!

Better get dressed, LO to Stagecoach then I have 3 hours to do my jobs.

Cooked yesterday afternoon - huge turkey mince Bolognese - so don't need to cook today if I don't feel like it - win!

    Have a good day everyone.

  • So, LO deposited at Stagecoach after a monster tantrum. Seriously, she's 6, surely these should be on the decline now. All over a pair of leggings that 'didn't feel right'... strewth!

Anyway, in the furore I forgot to take scissors with me to cut the flowers I'd bought for the cemetery, so had to come all the way back, then go to cemetery. Got there and realised I'd forgotten water... and obviously their taps were all frozen.... anyway i cleared the dead flowers, froze my hands off in the process and might pop back when i go to pick LO up, or i can pop out tomorrow as Im WFH.

Had a nice brunch of beans on toast (with cheese - probably should stop this habit) and decided i need to look at investing and future planning - so now looking at pensions with a cup of tea.

I had upped my pension contribution to 15% which took effect this month, and employer contributes 5% so that's increased by over £1000 this month.

I still have a pension with my old employer that i cannot do anything with so it's just sitting there. Not sure what to do with that, but Im sure i could make that work harder and be under my control. It's not a huge one, about £57k...

I could start to investigate it i guess.

After that im going to do a bit of work, and then make a turkey mince lasagne to have in the stocks. I really need to sort my diet out. Feels like I've put a stone on in the last week :rotfl:

Think a chilled day is in order, slowly doing the chores - ironing started but needs finishing. I don't feel the pressure so much when Im WFH, cos let's be honest who sees you ???

Onwards with the pension investigation :)
