Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Lovely to see a post from TA, so pleased yesterday went well........I was thinking about you all day, I can understand you just wanting to go home afterwards, its natural.......
Hester I hope CHS is behaving himself and making progress.
We went to see my quilting friend yesterday, she is registered blind, had been trying to order a pattern on the internet and could not do it, neither could I, so when we got home I managed to do it on my lap top, I have printed off the pattern and put it in an envlope, will post it off to her this morning.
We had ham sandwiches and mince pies, we were still full when we got home, so just cheese, biscuits and fruit for a late supper, will have the fish and chips tonight.
We appear to have had a frost overnight, we were expecting the gardener to come, the grass could do with a trim. There is quite a wind again this morning.
No real plans for the day, will be spending some time in the sewing room, have a hanging to quilt.
Fish and chips tonight, I have some frozen fruit bread in the freezer, might make a bread and butter pudding for dessert.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Nelski and hugs to all those in need.
CHS is more comfortable at home and is improving slowly, so far today we have had breakfast and gone for a walk round the marina.
He is now reading his kindle and I have a pan of hm veg soup simmering on the hob.
Yesterday he had a visit from a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and 2 work colleagues, he was worn out by 7 so went to bed.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all
It's a beautiful day but freezing cccccold ! The wind is quite strong too and it's bringing the leaves down like the poppy fall on Remembrance night.
My cold hasn't come to much but I feel tired (even though I slept really well sorry ) and catarrhal all the time. Plenty of hot drinks today I think.
Today I want to clean the upstairs and that's it, although I may do some ironing ..... I believe there are only 4 things in the basket, so it doesn't matter if that doesn't get done. Mr Fix it wants to attack the office/junk room too :rotfl:. We no longer need to use it as an office but it still gets messy as stuff just gets dumped in there .
Tea tonight will be bacon, sausage and egg etc. we haven't had that for ages.
TA hugs coming your way. I'm glad Bob had a good send off yesterday.
NMLC thanks for mentioning the clock change, I'd forgotten about that.
Nelski enjoy, enjoy :j
Hester hope CHS is on the road to recovery.
I shall send healing vibes and gentle hugs to all the poorlies and their carers and anyone who is in need today.
Hope everyone has a lovely day. Take care all.
nan xx
PS Tru hopefully your tree problem will get sorted now.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread Nelski. Nice to know that you are having fun and thank you for updating about Holly.
TA I am thinking of you, I know exactly what you mean about just wanting to go home.
It has been snowing here but not sticking and I'm going go see a friend later so will need to wear several layers, it really is cold. I've actually put the heating on and it is a) still October and b) daytime.
I quite wish that when my friend offered to come over to me, I hadn't said that I would go to her as I would combine tgat with going to Wilko for a very small brush to poke behind the radiators. OH says that that is a useless idea, it won't work but I have peered down inside them and there is a lot of fluffy dust which must be going into the atmosphere and I would like to get rid of some of that, at least.
I am tired as have not slept much for the past few days but it is of little consequence as I can always have a nap, even if it is on the bus, not necessarily an elegant form of travel but ho hum.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
AOD I hope you don't nap on the bus and miss your stop. Don't ask me how I know about that :oFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Good afternoon chums and Brr... a bit different today weather-wise. Eldest DD and her OH fly home tonight from NYC and she says its extremely cold there at the moment as well.Definitely ear-muff weather
Nelski I hope you enjoy my home town and get to see all the sights Sadly the only down thing about it is how dirty and litter ridden its become When I was growing up in London ,true we had a lot of bomb sites but didn't seem to have the litter that there is now .I drove through London last week and its got so dirty it's a shame and I am quite glad I no longer live there. But the sights are well worth seeing at least
Glad our Holly is OK and fingers crossed for her
Mrs TA, honey take one day at a time, and do things at your own pace ,you will find out who your true friends are in the coming months and who really care about you and your loss.
But each person is different and no one can tell you how you are supposed to, or are likely to feel.
You will have good days when you will smile at something and also you will have sad days and grey days in between, but I am thinking of you as they say, been there ,done that ,bought the tee shirt.
Not easy and it won't get better it will just be different, and the first year is the hardest at times, but life does and will carry on, and no doubt you have, like me, a smashing family to support you .
But you will get days when your are really angry I know I did ,especially when things went wrong or life just became difficult, but you do get through and learn to live again, and you will smile and laugh and when you do don't feel guilty because I am sure from what you have said your lovely Bob would want you to smile and laugh and be happy. I shall say a little prayer for you tonight honey, won't do any harm and who knows might even do some good xx
-taff I am thinking of you too honey as chemo is the pits at times but hopefully it will kill the little beggars that are making you ill. I heartily recommend chocolate for the horrible taste and drinking Lucozade ,worked for me, and my oncologist said it's not often Drs tell you to eat chocolate so make the most of it
H/Hester glad to hear CHS is progressing well, hope its not too cold on the boat .
Right I am off to eat one of my DGS chocolate brownies just because I can and I fancy one:):)
Speky good luck in the flat hunting
Have a good weekend chums and keep well wrapped up

I'm home! Had a terrific drive home, bright sunshine all the way but chilling cold.
My days with DM have been rotten, she's in demanding /attention seeking / tetchy mode which upsets me greatly. I can't understand why she wants to see the doc and then ignores the advice and won't take the prescribed meds. A glass of wine will get me through!
Meanwhile, it's a glorious sunset here tonight, view from my front door:
Red sky at night - etc. Fingers crossed.
Had to drive around escaped Highland cows and loose sheep, managed to avoid them all though the cows were not really inclined to move out of the way much. Sheep jumped back over the wall out of my way and then jumped back when I was past, just at that corner on the right of the photo. :rotfl:
TA - so good of you to post. Lovely to hear that all went well, once again I'm sure that you're proud of the family which you and Bob produced. You can breath again I hope.
Now gearing up for SCD, wine ready and woodburner on.0
