Amazon sort out your delivery options.

Options
Purchased a few items early last week (17th), some were available next day but some were marked as not available for premium delivery.

No problem not in a rush and the main item is useless without the other parts. So i chose Monday delivery (22nd) hoping the slower parts would be available and save having several different delivery dates.

I get an email on the 19th your items have been delayed, then on the 20th i get a your items will be delivered on the 21st. The other items not available for fast delivery still had no estimate at this time.

Part of the order delivered on the 21st with the other parts arrving on the 22nd and 23rd.

What happened to their bring it all in one box option? Whats the point in selecting the 22nd when they bring it early when its still incomplete?

Is there a way to get your items in one delivery?

PS these were all sold and shipped by Amazon so not down to 3rd party companies posting the items at different times.

Thanks

Amazon have warehouses all over the country and they don't all have everything in stock in each one so they'll ship it from the nearest one that does have stock. If you wanted the one box you'd have to wait longer for the items to all be brought together first and then shipped on to you, that would cost Amazon more so that would increase the prices for everyone.

I had two items arrive separately on the same day last week, one delivered from their Avonmouth depot and came via an amazon courier and the other from another depot but can't remember which one and came via Hermes.

Amazon is not like a traditional shop with one central warehouse.
  • As Fosterdog has said...different items come from different warehouses in different parts of the country.

I ordered two items last week - both arrived on the same day, but about 3 hours apart - both with Amazon Logistics but different couriers.

Yes OK different warehouses but they delivered several of the items on the Sunday when i chose a Monday delivery.

Wont delivering them on a Sunday and before my chosen date have cost them more? Especially as the driver returned the following day with more items.

Same driver came several days instead of just once or twice.

You've missed the point! Items not selected for specific delivery date will be shipped as soon as available. Not all items come from the same warehouse or even the same part of the country! Your courier has no idea you are awaiting further items therefore will deliver whatever he receives that day. Makes no odds to him how many times a week he delivers to you!

I ordered 8 items last week and they all came in the same box, and I hadn't even asked for it (because I didn't really care when any of it turned up).

You appear to have missed the point that i selected for delivery on Monday yet they delivered it on Sunday instead.

Fair enough on the items not available for speedy delivery, but the other items should have been delivered on Monday not Sunday.

You are missing the point, you selected a certain date for just some of the items, not all of them. You haven't yet said whether it was the ones selected for the Monday that arrived on the Sunday and Tuesday or whether it was the items that no date could be selected for.

Also amazon do not offer a bring all in one box option, they offer bring in the least number of boxes possible, which in your case was still more than one. This option is also not available on items you select a specific delivery date for, it is only available over a two to three day delivery window.

You seem to have confused yourself with exactly what options were available to you at checkout and are now moaning that they have done exactly what they said they would do.

Are you sure it was selected for delivery ON a specific date or just BY a specific date, because in my dealings with Amazon apart from the usual next day options the others are all estimated delivery dates, not exact ones. In those case items can, and often do, turn up a day or two early. You may have had the option to deliver on Monday but in my experience Amazon do not usually give this option.

Amazon don’t do nominated delivery so it is impossible to select a specific day.

You either select standard which is by a certain date, express before 1pm tomorrow, or next day.

On occasion next day will be the day after the next day depending on the time of day you are ordering.
