I seem to have inadvertently selected a tailored version of Facebook on my android tablet which I do not want and i cannot get rid of it. Can anyone help?

When I open fb on my android tablet, the display I get shows, as the top line, a UrL with Https://m.facrbook.com/?_rdr which I am guessing is some sort of auto redirect. Below this is a dark blue bar with various icons, the left most is a disk symbol. This is followed by a What's on your mind bar then Stories and then individual posts appear. all displayed full screen! There is no Facebook logo at the top and no sidebar with groups etc on the left side.

I have tried ticking the desktop option but that made no difference. I even downloaded and reinstalled FB still no difference. I assume I have clicked some alternative view in error. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? I expect it is something very simple but I cannot see what I have done.

You're probably using Chrome, so fire up the page then click on the 3 dots at top right and select Desktop Site.

Also try clicking the 3 dots then select History and delete everything in there that mentions Facebook.

There is another setting somewhere in Android system under, I think, Apps, where you can delete any data downloaded by any app which you select.
EDIT - It's under SETTINGS>APPS>APP STORAGE - delete cache and data for your selected app, in this case Facebook.
Don't know if this will fix it permanently, though.

thanks for the comments. I have tried selecting the desktop app but it makes no difference. I cleared the cache etc but no change. I even deleted the facebook app altogether but I still get the redirect URL!

I could probably live with it but all the images on the FB news feed are now massively oversized for my screen. I have looked in settings/
accessibility /magnification gestures and it is off.

It is almost as though I have been chosen for a new version of fb. But it is no use if the images displayed in the newsfeed are much too large/zoomed in for even a tablet to display.

Try deleting data and cache for Chrome browser.

If that does not work then it must be something in Fb itself that has been inadvertently clicked while swiping/moving across the page.
If so then you need to go into Fb settings and sort it out there - cannot help with this as I don't have Fb on my phone.

The OP appears to be using a Facebook app rather than a browser such as Chrome, so I doubt your suggestion is going to help.

You could try using a browser to view Facebook rather a Facebook app.
