Collect+ - Lost (supposedly) in Preston

Sent a 2.4kg package worth £195 via signed delivery, tracked / scanned into the Preston depot on the 9th Oct but by the 15th it had been classed as 'undelivered / return to sender'. A week went by & it still hadn't been returned nor had I been told why it was 'undelivered' & they've now told me they've been unable to locate the package & classed in as lost. Delivery was booked via Interparcel with only £25 cover, full cover doubled the price of delivery. Have had to refund the buyer & am now looking at a loss of £170, am I stuffed or can they be chased for the entire loss as I don't believe it's been lost at all.

You sent a £195 parcel with insurance cover for just £25? Thats some risk.
The buyer would be covering the cost of delivery if you priced it right so the risk was all yours.
Howto prove the parcel you sent really was worth £195?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
An error I know but I'm a small business & tracked delivery went from £6.50 to £12.50 with full cover, as I offered free delivery it was a big chunk to double my overheads & seeing as the courier is supposed to be a professional outfit I thought tracked delivery would be sufficient. Have emailed them with proof of value & the paid invoice so no issues there but parcels don't simply go missing in a secure depot, regardless of cover I paid is there no chance of making them accountable.0

If £195 is your retail price your insurable claim is going to be for the wholesale price you paid which is going to be less.
However, I can't see them offering more than the insurance you paid for - £25.0
