Kitchen planning help

This isn’t really a money saving question, I’m just hoping for some thoughts on an idea I have for my new kitchen.
Without trying to explain the whole plan, my conundrum revolves around the location of my oven. It will be in a tall unit and either fitted on the end of the run of regular height units or next to the fridge in a bank of tall units.
On the face of it, I’d rather have it in the tall bank of units, but this would put the main walkway through the kitchen (a 1200mm gap between the apex of my peninsula and said tall bank) between the oven and the nearest place to set down hot plates.
This concerns me slightly as although I have no children and live alone, if at some point there were kids in the house they would undoubtedly choose then to stand directly behind me. On the other hand however, the gap is only 1200mm, by the time the oven door being open and my backside are taken into account, there’s not going to be a heavy flow of traffic behind me.
Does anyone have a similar set up to this?

The refrigerator is the most frequently used spot in many kitchens: drinks soft and alcoholic, milk for tea or coffee, ingredients, 'fresh' snacks, condiments or sides when setting the table or ready to serve.
Having the oven next to the refrigerator sounds like inviting children to burn themselves when getting a drink or helping to set the table, people to be in your way generally.
Your own children can be trained. Other people's children may need to be given an invisible line to remain behind and/ or just shout clear instructions when you are about to move about with hot stuff or easily dropped/ broken stuff.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
We have ours in a tall unit at the end of a run of standard height units, and it is very convenient and looks fine. What are your reasons for this option being less preferable? The comments I post are my personal opinion. My kitchen is long and narrow and have 1260mm floor space between the two runs of units. Along one side, I have a doorway, 600mm cupboard, oven, then fridge (the hob being above the oven). No wall units or tall cupboards. Sink is almost directly opposite the oven & hob.
This kitchen was installed just before Christmas last year, and in the ten months or so since, I've not had any issues with the oven being right next to the fridge. But then no small children to get in the way, just one cat.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Only because I’d have more counter space if I had it in the tall units. I’d have roughly 600 each side of the hob with the oven on the end and roughly 700 more if it was with the tall units.0

So your decision might turn on how concerned you are about having the extra counter space. The comments I post are my personal opinion. Mine's been next to the fridge for 7 years, with a gap to the worktop and kids that have grown up with it and there's never been an issue. I haven't really given it a thought.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Neff slide & hide ovens? Its an neff oven with a retracting door - have to see it to appreciate it - try look on some youtube videos - does that address your concerns?0

I'm just finishing a run with a hob in a 600 drawer unit an 400 standard unit and a tall oven unit against the wall, it looks good on it's own.
Although there is a 300 wall unit attached to it so not exactly alone as there is a run of wall units on the same wall.0 -
