Urgent Advice Needed - Bullied at work

Hi everyone,
I need advice, fast.
I've been getting bullied at work and I reported it but nothing is being done about it and now work is hell.
I've handed in my notice but the thought of having to stay to work my one month notice is killing me. Since all this started I've had daily headaches, stomach problems, I'm barely sleeping and just feel like a zombie. I am hoping that I'll be able to use my remaining 5.5 annual leave days which will cut a week off my notice but apparently thats up to my boss whether I get to do that?
I have also been advised by my dad to get signed off sick with stress as I am clearly in no shape to work.
Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you

Are the comments re your personal life related to a protected characteristic? Did you consider joining a union?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

- if you get te feeling they want you gone, you're probably right. so get it over with quickly.
- they can't decide if you are allowed to resign or not. So decide if you want to leave
- going to your boss with interpersonal issues is never great
- if you are going, ask to leave with immediate effect
- get your CV into some agencies today2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Hand in your notice, its not for them to decide if you can leave or not, you are not a slave.
And tbh, if i were suffering the mental health issues you describe due to work, id self cert for a week then get a fit note for the remaining 3.0 -
Without knowing the kinds of comments being made, without knowing what these allegations against you from other people are, and without knowing how long toy have worked there....
I'd have to agree that, on the face of it, they don't want toy there anyway and the employer had no intention of things changing to any significant degree. You could get signed off, but that might impact on job applications if you are asked about sick leave. On the other hand, it's hard to know what else to suggest.
If you have been there for more than two years, please provide more information.0 -
Hi everyone,
I need advice, fast.
So last week a co-worker, after a week of giving me the silent treatment, snapped at me after I asked a question and ended up shouting and swearing at me for a good 10 minutes or so. I have no idea what I have said or done to have made him go silent on me in the first place, or why he felt the need to shout and swear. - What was the content of the shouting and swearing? IE could it be discrimination (on a protected characteristic).
He has been making comments and jokes about my personal life for a long time that I have not found remotely funny, and I guess last week was my breaking point. - so you do know what it's about? I had tried not taking it personally, because for all I know he could be dealing with things in his personal life, but he' been fine with everyone else, the problem has clearly been me.
So I went to management with the issue. A meeting was arranged for this week to discuss everything. - great.
I turned up prepared, having written a Statement of Events, keeping it very factual to say this is what happened and when, and this is what was said. I also wrote a personal statement to explain what my feelings and opinions were on everything that had happened. I felt that I had made very good points in this. We have no office policies or procedures so I have no idea if I went about this in the right way. - no idea without reading it. Personally I would only present such documents if they were asked for
I handed a copy to each of them but they didnt read it. Ideally I wanted them to read it first so they had a full understanding of what happened and we could properly discuss everything. - Hence why I would only present if/when asked Basically the meeting went terribly. I feel that my boss had already made up her mind before I even sat down in that meeting. I was accused of all sorts based on the office gossip and opinons of others. - such as? She made it very clear that I was replaceable, said that nothing was going to happen besides my colleague being asked to "tone down" his comments, and that she doesnt know what I expect. - I mean, she has a point. You are replaceable.
She then went on to say that I have until monday to make a decision as to whether I stay or leave. She said that if I decide to leave, she will make the decision as to whether that is the best for the company and either let me or not. - Well she cant stop you leaving. So I guess you mean, if you decide to stay? Sorry doesn't make sense
Ideally I would have liked to have stayed. Up until now I have loved my job and of course also need the money which is very good for my type of role. However, I got the very clear feeling that she wants me gone, I am not going to beg her to keep me on when I have gone above and beyond in my role to make her company the best it can be from my area of things and I dont particularly want to work with my colleague anymore, so i have made the very difficult decision to leave. - Great
The thought of having to stay to work my one month notice is killing me. Since all this started I've had daily headaches, stomach problems, I'm barely sleeping and just feel like a zombie. - Well if you aren't fit for work, call in sick I am hoping that I'll be able to use my remaining 5.5 annual leave days which will cut a week off my notice but apparently thats up to my boss whether I get to do that? - indeed
I have also been advised by my dad to get signed off sick with stress as I am clearly in no shape to work.

Not really sure what advice you want.
You're resigning. You have a months notice. You can either work it, or not. But if you don't, there could be other repercussions.
And to be honest, it sounds to me like when you went to management you had not taken the time to calm down. Such an incident would not typically involve a meeting with-in 7 days.
The issue of course now is one of a reference. Apologising, keeping your head down for a couple months whilst you find something new will be better it the long term0 -

You have a very stubborn text predict there, it refuses to let you type 'You'.0 -
What did your boss say about you, our work, or your behaviour that led her to dismiss your claim and hint on the possibility of leaving the company.
It sounds like people are frustrated with you but one took it too far. Maybe there is an option of considering why they feel the way they do. Otherwise I think you won't ever settle back there and are better for looking for another job. Once you know you are out, being there won't be as bad as you know everything that weights on you is only temporary and what they say doesn't matter any longer.0 -

I’m not sure what you mean by this and I’d have no clue about joining a union0
