PGCE Application - how long before you heard back?

I sent my application in the beginning of October got my letter confirming that it had been passed on to my university choice. My status has been "passed on to course provider for assessment" since then. I was just wondering if other people had heard back yet? Starting to get a bit worried as it's Primary and places fill up fast - though I assume if they were going t out and out reject me they would have done it by now?

I'm afraid I can't remember how long it took for me (few years ago!). If you are worried, give the University a quick call and ask what the normal time scales are.0

I used to work in a University dealing with Primary PGCE applications and we used to get absolutely flooded with applications.
The way PGCE applications work is that your application goes to your 1st choice and is only passed on to your 2nd choice once your 1st choice has made a decision.
The way we used to do it was to immediately reject any applications we didn't want to interview so that they could be sent on to their 2nd choice. The ones we wanted to interview were invited to interview, we used to hold 3 interview days but from memory these were not held until December or January (after the application closing date). Unfortunately letters inviting applicants were often not sent until a couple of weeks before (due to university timetable and because we needed a day where a number of lecturers were available to conduct interviews)
As the previous poster said ring the university direct, it sounds to me like they will be inviting you to interview but if you ring them they should be able to tell you.
I hope that made sense, If you need any more info let me knowMFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
Well the good news is I heard back from the university, and I have an interview on the 29th.
Bad news is I'm really really nervous!!0 -
You'll be fine, everyone else will be nervous too remember.
Have they asked you to do a presentation or anything? Have they sent you a programme for the day, if not ask for one so that you know exactly what to expectMFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
