any free parking in chelmsford

thinking of staying at premier inn on victoria rd chelmsford for one night on new years eve, i can find paid parking close by for £15 , we will be there for less than 24 hours so that seems a lot.


arriving about 4pm leaving next morning


does anyone know of any free or cheaper parking close by

Looking likely that there isnt any free parking.


we will probably change our plans and stay on outskirts , cheaper for the hotel and then drive in to town and park for evening for £2.50

I live very near Chelmsford and there is no free parking, certainly not overnight. The best you can get is 3 hrs at Tesco.

The problem is that we are on a railway line which takes you to London in 35 minutes, so we are basically a target for commuters. There are yellow lines and expensive car parks everywhere, but nothing free.
