Striking Liverpool singer/guitarist- Jade Gallagher is making waves with her compelling voice and haunting tunes – which can be heard on Jade's debut album ‘Maybe This’ released November 26th on independent label Easymoney Records.
Jade already has under-her-belt a few major tours, including special performances at this year’s Livefest, Liverpool Summer Pops, and a dazzling acoustic set at Guilfest -which led to a live interview with Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2. She was also support on the recent Joan Armatrading - Royal Albert Hall show -selling an impressive 200 CDs during the interval to people who wanted to hear more.
With a voice to break a million hearts, Jade was invited to play at the launch of Paul McCartney's album 'Chaos and Creation in the Backyard' and also performed with The Byrds legend Roger McGuinn. Having recently supported the likes of Bryan Adams, Katie Melua, Van Morrison, Sugababes, Westlife, Hanson and Nate James it is not surprising that she has been compared to artists such as Shawn Colvin and Suzanne Vega.
With a Malaysian-Chinese mother and a Irish father, Jade was classically trained throughout her teens before opting to concentrate on playing guitar, singing and developing her songwriting skills; something that she found to be more liberating in terms of there being fewer ‘rules’ to follow.
“I love everything from rock music to r’n’b, but my passion has always been singing whilst playing acoustic guitar” says Jade, which inspired her to make her debut album 'Maybe This' - which has an edgy country vibe.
The album was conceived in an unassuming caravan on the outskirts of Liverpool. Legendary photographer Mick Rock - known for his iconic shots of Blondie, Kate Moss and David Bowie to name but a few - has shot the album sleeve.
Suffice it to say, although a relative newcomer to the scene, this gal has packed in a lot of hard work into a short space.
