Perfect Pet Insurance - AVOID!!!

Has anyone had a successful claim with Perfect Pet insurance? I am having problems with delays in a claim being processed and have learnt that the underwriting company are registered in Malta which would appear to make them exempt from any intervention by the Finance Ombudsman. They are still coming up on comparison websites and should be avoided at all costs as they are terrible to deal with.

According to page 22 of the policy document you can refer a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman if you are not happy with the company's handling of your complaint.

I never use insurance for my dog. I just opened a bank account and pay in a fixed amount every month - it soon builds up!

Yes same here, been paying premiums for 4yrs now needed to claim for pancreatitis and they initially declined claim as he had a bout of diarrhoea back in 2019!! To be fair vet intervened and put them straight from a medical point of view they then called and said in their opinion he was classed as a medium breed therefore I owed them 4yrs backdated payments as he was listed as a small breed!! When asked how the re-assessment of claim proceeding they claimed we are s different department.  Waiting for the manager to call back as no one was available surprisingly enough.....in view of my recent experience I would suggest anyone thinking of insuring your pet with this company AVOID at all costs.  Trust pilot reviews are misleading clearly an attempt to get ratings up to dupe people.  Will be taking case to financial Ombudsman if they continue to wriggle out of paying.  No point having insurance if they don't cover anything!!!
