Hi, to summarise; we purchased a sideboard on line at just over £700. When it arrived and after the delivery crew had left we found out that the doors didn't shut if the shelves were in because there are 2 vertical struts on the inside of each door and they hit the shelf. Only solution was to remove the struts and then you are left with 2 un-stained stripes on each door! Immediately reported it to FV who asked for photos which I emailed immediately. 2 weeks later after chasing them I as told that they don't have the photos and to resend them, which I did immediately. After constantly calling and emailing to get a replacement for 2 months I was given a delivery date. Replacement arrived with exactly the same problem plus the drawers were sticking and there were no internal supports for the shelves! Thankfully we established this before the crew left and told them to take the replacement back as it was worse than the original. Have since been in contact with FV to make them aware and to advise that we would keep the original because a) we don't want to wait another 2 months and b) we fully expect any replacement to have the same issue.
We have entered into negotiations for a refund and were initially offered £75 with the guarantee kept in place. We rejected that and went back with a request for £300. They have since come back and offered £200 because the only way to improve on £75 is to 'buy us out of the 10 year warranty'.

Would welcome any views on this offer. How do you put a monetary value on a 10 year warranty? Not sure if it reasonable or not.

thanks.
