For a single woman 36 weeks pregnant.... ok you come up with one

It's not enough in my LA. Applicants needs to have significant medical needs in order to even be considered for social housing. Generally, applicants with children are offered temporary accommodation (and this can be many miles away) and assistance in finding a private rental. The council officers often call landlords and offer the deposit and first month's rent to help the applicant. Simply having a child is no longer enough to get priority.

I am sure the OP will be grateful for any help though even if it's not a council home.

Is the child's father not offering help and support? If not, then yes, you will have to stay wherever you are put once the child has been born. Personally, I really wouldn't have put myself in this situation; I'd want somewhere to live before I gave birth.
