Two different Experian scores?

My Barclaycard online banking account comes with a free monthly Experian score (not a report). It was updated today and gives me a score of 969.
Out of curiosity I used the MSE Credit Club Account to get my Experian report, which gives me a score of 990.
I understand why Experian is different from Equifax and Callcredit, but I can't understand why Experian would give me two different scores on the same day. Can anybody shed light on why this might happen?

Because the scores are made up
You can safely ignore all of them

Oh, don't worry, I'm not using the scores for anything. I'm just mystified at how the same company can give me two different scores in one day. Even if they used a random number generator, you'd think they would try to hide it.

Depends on various factors.
What you entered for rent/mortgage, outgoings, salary etc.
All random numbers0 -
That makes sense. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity.0

The discrepancy is usually caused by the date when the experian scores were last updated. Barclaycard only update the score every 60 days. MSE Credit Club updates monthly. My scores are rarely identical.0
