Indigo penalty notice -train station

Hi All, this seems like deja vu.
Today my Mum received a penalty notice through the post, nothing had been left on her window, from Indigo for parking at Three Bridges train station "failing to obtain a valid ticket or voucher".
She hunted through the car and found the ticket she had bought on the day, on close observation I discovered she had put in the wrong registration. She had missed off the first letter. Normally I'd think silly old woman, but in this case I totally understand. I use these machines all the time and for some reason it never takes the first letter, you have to keep pressing it until it works.
Anyhow, I say it's like deja vu because this thread is the last time my mum got a penalty notice at a train station:

Should I follow the same procedure as last time or is there any chance Indigo will display a shred of decency and common sense and cancel it due to an easy to make mistake?

You can either play mail ping pong for six months or ignore it. Which you do is down to personal preference but Indigo have no powers other than to send scary letters.0

I was under the impression I need to play the game differently due to it being at a train station?
see the post above yours
this comes under bylaws and must be dealt with in magistrates court , indigo,s contract forbids them to start court action
expect much junk mail threatening to kidnap your cat etc etc

What waamo is recommending is 'playing the game differently'.
Do a quick forum search on 'Indigo station' and read recent threads - the advice is all the same for Indigo tickets at train stations. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ok, thats easy. Last time I dealt with a penalty notice at a train station for my Mum I wrote a couple of letters first, then ignored them. If I can just ignore them from the start that makes my life an awful lot easier.
Thanks as ever everyone.0
