Putting in a claim for ppi on our mortgage with the Halifax. Do I have a claim we need we had it but was told we had to had it or we couldn't have the mortgage. It was when you had a 100% mortgage, our income was possibility £19000.so wasn't a high income. Any help would be gratful

What they 'said' is not provable. How would you have paid your mortgage if you were sick, lost your job, died.
You have to have some proof that the ppi was miss sold
And make a complaint, not a claim.
Thousands of people even now are on a salary less than you quotemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Are you sure it wasn't mortgage indemnity?
It sounds like a condition of the mortgage for a 100% mortgage.0 -
A complain has been made, being forced to take it out so not having a choice I thought was wrong too.0

There were deals, particulary in the 90s, where MPPI was needed. If that was the case with yours then it was not missold.
If you were lied to then it was missold. However, it is one of the weakest complaint reasons as every try-it-on and fraudulent complaint also says the same and there is usually no evidence to support your allegation. It was when you had a 100% mortgage
Are you sure you are talking about PPI and not MIG? (Mortgage indemnity guarantee - required when taking out high loan to valuations).
Did you use a broker or branch?A complain has been made, being forced to take it out so not having a choice I thought was wrong too.
Not having choice is a myth as a complaint reason. Halifax was a tied distribution channel and could only offer their own product. So, they couldnt give you choice.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Yes they agree we had a ppi with them it was taken out in 2000. We were told that we were first time buyers buying our first home. I've done some research and being forced to take out a policy because we couldn't have the mortgage otherwise his wrong.0

No, it's not wrong if it's a true condition of the mortgage.0

If it was a condition of borrowing then it is not wrong.
If you were lied to then it is wrong.
However, as I mentioned higher up, it is one of the weakest complaint reasons going. What evidence do you have to back up this allegation?
Almost certainly Halifax will have no evidence to support this allegation. So, what do you have to support it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
