I have just applied for the new First Diret Gold Card. I hope to transfer the £3k of debt from two other cards (at extortionate %APR).
The Gold Card offers; 0% for 12 months for purchases (not that I intend on making any!) and more importantly a balance transfer rate of 4.9%APR for FIVE years!
Do any other cards offer this kind of deal?
(Only First Direct 1st Account customers can apply, heres a link http://www.firstdirect.com/creditcards/gold_card.shtml)

There are a few that offer a low rate for a fixed term. These may be slightly different from the Life of Balance Cards, but as long as you can pay it off within 5 years seems pretty good.

Nice to see decent First Direct introductory offers again after a very long absence from the field.
You'll probably save more if you shifted after every 12-15 months on 0% deals. But of course, we're assuming if you'll maintain a good credit score so that you've no problems for every shift to your next 0% bt card.I know nothing0 -
Hi there,
I currently have a halifax credit card i've transferred an amount onto at 5.94% for the life of the BT, i've quite a few grand still spare on the card & they have since offered me the same 5.94% deal again. What i'm not sure about is if i transferred a 2nd BT onto the card at the same rate would the 2nd BT be getting charged interest twice. ie It would go to the back of the queue behind the 1st BT & just be sitting there accuring interest until 1st BT is paid off & then could i be paying interest on the whole of the balance as well. suppose to put the question in simple terms - Is there a catch to doing 2nd balance transfer?
Many Thanks in advance & sorry if not explained very clearly, late at night & tired.0
