Parking Eye. For general amusement

Hi
I'm a big fan of this forum, having drawn on it very successfully against Highview and others in the past.
I received a NTK from Parking Eye over a visit to Highfield House Hotel in Southampton. To cut a long story short, staff there didn't make it clear we had to register our visit and so they subsequently did the decent thing and contacted Parking Eye to cancel the charge. I then got this grudging, patronising, non-apology from Parking Eye :

Dear Sir/Madam [so, lazy template letter, as they referred to me by name at the top of the letter]
We refer to the parking charge incurred on 09 September 2018 at 14:45 at Highfield House Hotel in Southampton

We understand that receiving a Parking Charge Notice may be inconvenient, however, issuing Parking Charges for breaches of the parking terms and conditions at this car park is necessary to ensure a better overall parking experience for all users of the facilities.

We can confirm that this parking Charge has now been cancelled and there is no outstanding payment due.

To avoid potential future inconvenience, we would kindly request you follow the parking terms and conditions displayed on the signage throughout the car park

Kind regards

ParkingEye Team [ahhh, do you think they all go on team building weekends for scammers?]

I didn't like their patronising non-apology and so posted this back to them this week :

To: Parking Eye

From: XXXXXX XXXX

9th October 2018

Reference: your template letter of 5th October.
Parking Charge Notice – xxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxx

Dear Sir/Madam

I refer to the Parking Charge you issued to me on 9th September at Highfield House Hotel Southampton.

I understand that incorrectly issuing, then having to cancel, a Parking Charge Notice may be inconvenient. However, this is part and parcel of playing your important part in the national parking charge scam industry and is therefore simply an inconvenience that must be borne by you.

I can confirm that there was no possibility of my ever paying a speculative invoice issued from a PO box in Chorley, and that your cancellation of this Parking Charge is magnificently redundant.

To avoid potential future inconvenience, I would kindly suggest that you make it clear to your clients to point out to customers the terms and conditions displayed on your few, dimly lit signs in their car park.

Kind regards

XXXX XXXXXXXX

They will obviously just bin it, so I thought I'd just park a copy here.

Great result, as long as those who start to tread this path in future don't think that this is the primary step to getting their PE charge cancelled.

All well and good going for the jugular after cancelling, but I think a pre-emptive strike ahead of cancellation might just see PE dig their (litigious) heels in.

Like all this stuff, no one has the perfect answer. :)

Am i the only one on here that thinks the BPA is doing a fantastic job, the money is still rolling into its members coffers.
The politicians make the odd positive noise, then do nothing, the DVLA data tap is left open, and now they have themselves registered as an accredited trade association (ATA) they dont have to worry about re-accreditation

You jest Half_way ...... If the government do not grasp that the BPA and the scam IPC are not fit for purpose then sadly, all fingers will be pointed at Sir Greg Knight.
