I believe there is more to this story than we have so far been told.

Did the other items get lost during the returns process too?

Is this a purchase direct from Amazon or a third party seller?
  • Direct from Amazon, and no theres no more to this story unless you count going into detail with the conversations, I even said a advisor told me a refund had been issued there and then oh and just realised some thing that may be relevant, I had issues a while back in that my account was locked and got a email saying they thought my account was compromised, It may of been my own fault because I realised I had put my name on card wrong like lets say I am Joe Bloggs I put it as "Mr Joe Bloggs" when the card actually said "J Bloggs" and just before the account was locked they kept cancelling orders I made saying bank declined them, this was partly true as bank was just being cautious, so it may have flagged something.

On top of that I ordered a new motherboard and I just remembered that due to the temporary lock on account and cancelled orders there was some issue where the order was cancelled so I remade it after account was unlocked, then got a dispatch email 10 days later so I cancelled order so that will count as a 4th return maybe so I can see that maybe theres some flag on account due to that now I think about it but either way I have sent the item, tracking proves item was collected and hasn't updated which is why I was annoyed

And no the other items did not get lost

Have you actually sent a copy of the courier receipt which Amazon have (twice) requested?

If so and you still don't have a refund, it does sound as if Amazon are suspicious of your account activity.

(Cancellations don't count as Returns, by the way)

I think that they suspect something may not be quite right and are being more careful than normal. The above issue should not cause the bank to decline (I always put my name down a J bloggs regardless of spelling on card and never had it declined). I assume, as it's high value, whilst they have proof they picked up "something", they don't know what that is until it reaches them.

Couriers don't normally take over four weeks to deliver to Amazon Return Centres. Nor does it take the RC so long to scan the return and examine the contents.

The banking issue was a "while back" and the bank did not decline payment on the particular item in question.

Amazon are asking for the customer's courier receipt because, clearly, they don't have the item (or they don't believe so).

Yeah I agree, but what I meant, is normally amazon will refund on pick up of item (or dispatch from PO). That they didn't this case is due to the high value item and possible risk associated with the customer. Now add to that the package appears lost means they are going to put in extra effort to find out what's happened, rather than a fast refund.

Why was your account locked? Suggests they weren't happy with something?

    Why was your account locked?
    Read the thread.
It was due to suspected fraudulent activity.

I am not asking for help, just commenting on my experience returning some expensive items via Hermes.

I haven't returned Amazon items very often but when I have its always been via royal mail and in recent years I was amazed to see refunds issued as soon as Royal Mail registered they had the parcel.

This time I ordered a number of Alexa related items, received them, they didn't have the compatibility with other electrical items I expected (even the philips hue bulbs I ordered from Amazon that were listed as alexa compatible) so I returned the entire lot the next day. But through Hermes. I kept monitoring what was happening to the parcels (two). For five days they just sat in a Hermes warehouse.

I did email Hermes, expressing concern over the fact that my parcels were just sitting there in the same place for a few days, asking if they were in actual fact lost.

Two days later Amazon have received one item and refunded me, I am hoping the same will happen with the larger parcel with multiple items in it. Crossing everything.

Will never use Hermes again lol. Royal Mail from now on lol.

And I will never order items that are actually a gimick again either lolol. I would rather just talk to a wall than pay a fortune to talk to a speaker that is compatible with very little as yet. I had people on the Alexa facebook page telling me they had up to 9 hubs to get Alexa to link with other items they had lolol. Crazy.

I do have the Hermes receipt if there are any problems
