Options
This is going to be a long one so please bear with me. My mam had a very catalogue account on 28/10/17 she ordered a iPad Pro and keyboard bundle for Xmas the first problem started in February 2018 the iPad was showing as charging when nothing was connected I videoed this and contacted stormfront a authorised repairer for Apple they replaced the iPad the same thing happened beginning of October again it was replaced then one day old and happened again this time they suggested the keyboard maybe at fault so both went back in, they rang and wanted proof of purchase which was fine had invoice dated as above but on there system it is estimated purchase date of 2016 I got this Oct 2017 as the dates don’t match they will not help. My mam has passed away they tried to say the warranty did not stand I’m having problems getting any help from very has anyone got any advice I’m hitting every brick wall possible many thanks in advance

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. Your mum was the customer so very will not deal with you and the warranty won't help as they don't actually have to deal with you either.

Did you register a warranty in your name? That would be your only hope, but I doubt you did as there wouldn't be confusing over the purchase date if you did.

Sadly for you, unless the warranty is transferrable, then you have no rights as they lay with your mother as the buyer.

If you have an Apple store within a reasonable distance I would consider taking it there and explain the circumstances.
  • My mam contacted them so I could contact them whilst she was poorly I paid it and have the paperwork though in her name I’m sure I registered it I will check storm front replaced the iPad no problem it’s serial number was showing as in warranty. When I gave them the box for the keyboard it is showing as estimated purchase 2016 I got it October 2017 it was out of warranty when I got it

Unfortunately, even if you had lasting power of attorney for your mum to act for her in a legal capacity, it would have terminated when she passed.
