Just overpaid by 3,000 bringing our outstanding amount down to 3,511.64. Mortgage of 756.56 due out 1st Jan 2023 so we will be left with 2,755 approx outstanding I will look for redemption figure towards end of January to align with our pay dates and along with a mortgage exit fee of 150.00 we should be looking at a figure of less than 3,000 and that is us free and clear and we are going away to celebrate for the weekend.
Bought July 2018 - Mortgage free January 2023 (4 and a half years not bad if I say so myself)1 -
Wow so nearly there!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Gonna push off paying this down in full, we got news that my mum isn't well and the money will be better used elsewhere, so what we have decided to do is allow the mortgage 756.56 per month to finish out the balance, and clear the rest post 1st April 2023 there should only be a balance of sub 500 pounds including exit documents etc.0

Having just made our mortgage payment our outstanding total is: 1,999.99 + 150 Exit Fee. Where things stand is I have enough in the bank to clear it but were travelling back to family every two weeks so we made the decision to clear it naturally via mortgage payment in March and April and make an overpayment in April to clear the balance.0
