newly brought house, concrete bump in living room

we've recently bought our first house, we moved the living room door slightly further along the same wall, all been replastered and painted.
Last night we lifted the laminate flooring up, we knew it was slightly raised but assumed it was a badly fitting laminate problem.
Turns out the concrete flooring underneath is actually risen. I can't see any cracks, we have no damp issue, and no signs of substance.
A quick Google has left me panicking about Red Ash (we live in an old mining village)
Not sure what we need to do now, is a raised concrete floor always red ash? Are there other possibilities and how do I find out.
Im weary of asking a company to come and check who I then have to be a fortune to put it right.
the house has had a 3 storey (attic) extension to the side.
Really hoping someone can help!

Is the house in Gloucester?0

Do you know when your house was built?0

When was it built ?
(Sorry about the echo)
There are other construction faults that would cause concrete to bulge and crack. One that springs to mind is an iron or steel reinforcement that is badly corroded resulting in "rust jacking" - Not too difficult to repair.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

There is some useful info in this doc about Sulphate attacks on concrete.

Did you have a full structural survey before purchase?
Who are the 'we' who moved the doorway? Did you/ they have the right equipment/ knowledge/ experience to do it properly?
Is the door wall structural or a stud partition? What specifically is directly above the door wall? In the floor, on the floor, against a wall ...Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

no didn't get a structural survey (regretting that now)
a builder moved the door and did use the right stuff and put supporting beam across the new frame.
I'm not 100% when the house was built 50' or 60's i'll look when I'm back home.
who would we need to get in to find out the problem?
the suphate testing seems to be 500!0 -

Given you seem to have had a good experience with this builder and their team, ask them if they noticed the 'bump' and have anything to confess ...
But seriously: an experienced builder has contacts throughout the trade. And they know you are just starting out so a potential long term, reliable/ trusted/ pay-on-time customer with friends/ colleages ... Win-win.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
How large is the bump? Maybe some of your neighbours could supply you with some info.0
