CSA hasn't taken payment

Hi
We are paying a debt to csa and make a regular payment by direct debit. However they haven't taken the payment this month.
I know csa is closing but I assumed payments would continue as normal and just be taken over by the new system?
Thanks in advance

Have you phoned and checked?0

We were hoping it might have been written off with the move to the new CMS system. We have had no communication about the move to the new system so no idea when or if that move is happening or what to expect0

Without being rude (well ish) this is money for your child(ren) - surely it's a point of principle to ensure it's paid.0 -
I understand that but not everything is black and white.
It's complicated... It's an old debt owed to CSA not the mother. The kids where not in her care and she still somehow managed to continue claiming CSA and child benefit!
We later took custody of the kids so ongoing payments stopped but continued to pay older arrears.
We could have argued the debt however historically every time we spoke to CSA they wanted to increase payment to an unmanageable amount. We figured it was better not to rock the boat and just pay the figure which was affordable each month. Maybe a silly decision0 -

No no, I respect what you're saying.
It's not so much that I'm judging you. I personally feel that I pay the minimum the CMS requires, as a baseline. And it's a point of principle to do that. Regardless of how it's spent.0 -
Thank you for your replies but I don't feel inclined to pour out our life story on a public forum.
I'm just interested in advice regarding my original question0 -

See my reply #2.
No-one can answer this for you. There's one thing the CSA do well, that's collect debts.0 -
Another thing to remember, if this is a debt to the Secretary of State it doesn't go away. It can follow you to your retirement pension. If CSA/CMS have currently overlooked you, your details will crop up again. They're just overworked and understaffed.0

Hi,
I am currently in a similar situation where the mother is claiming money from me despite our daughter living with her parents - see my thread in this forum.
The one thing I have found out is that there is very little or no investigating that goes on and the CBA/CMS are just happy to have someone paying the money and paying their admin fees. If think CBA is quite an appropriate abbreviation for the child benefit agency as it is also known as "Cant be assed" lol0 -

If non resident parents pay voluntarily, there are no admin fees.......
- Child Benefits Agency is nothing to do with maintenance....0
