The outside world will have no visbility on this. As matters stand you aren't currently a homeowner.

And what perhaps is even worse, is that if your relationship ever comes to an end, you would not have any claim on any contribution you made towards the mortgage/property maintenance. Unless you can prove to a court that you have made any such contributions. Suggest you take legal advise.

Hi, I am updating my credit profile on clearscore and i’m Unsure what to put for residential status. I live with my fianc!e (we’re getting married in April) and she owns the home in her name. I pay her half the mortgage, bills, shopping etc. Am I a homeowner or private tenant? There is no ‘other’ option. Help would be much appreciated.

Put whatever you like, they only want the information to try and sell you stuff.

    Homeless.

You have no legal tenancy and no legal right to inhabit the building. You are therefore legally and technically homeless.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I don't think there is an option for that :rotfl:

OP: Choose the closest appropriate option. If you are not on the electoral roll at that address, most lenders will not accept you regardless when using it on a credit application, however since you are financially contributing to his expenses and have his permission to live there, you are technically his lodger.

As someone else has said, that information is not used for actual credit information, as Clearscore are not the credit reference agency, but a relay of it. I assume the reason they ask for such information is to search for credit cards; loans etc. which require this information to return an eligibility rating. I would not lose sleep over it. As long as everything is accurate with the actual credit reference agencies Experian; Equifax and TransUnion (formerly CallCredit) then that is fine.

I honestly wouldn't bother too much, it's only Clearscore! They are a subsidiary of Equifax. The only problem is that financial institutions look down on you if you say you are a tenant. They love home owners. So I'd go for that. It's not a legal document, it's only a credit scoring company (and not even the main one, at that). Put home owner, I would. I did. It just means that when you are looking for good credit card deals and loans, they will look more favourably on you. No biggie. Not really.

Maybe there should be? There are so many homeless people now in broken Britain whether they are on the streets, sofa surfing or renting rooms in a house or living in someone elses house.

    All technically and legally homeless..
