Parking ticket question

I have read the very useful guidance on the Newbies page on this. However, a broad question - in past instances that I have read about, many have suggested to simply ignore all letters etc from the PPC or debt collectors (unless from the Council). Is that still a wise option, or do you really need to challenge these?
Thanks for any info

I thought you said you have read the stickies.
I've just had another quick read of post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread and didn't see anything about ignoring (except if you are in Scotland).
Please help us to help you... where exactly did you see this 'ignore' guidance?0 -
IGNORING a PPC changed in oct 2012 with POFA2012 for E & W, that advice has NEVER changed since. the advice on here to do this changed around around march 2013 , some 5 to 6 months later when we realised properly what to advise (ALWAYS APPEAL if they are in the BPA AOS or in the IPC AOS)
IGNORING debt collectors has always been the case and never changed
not challenging a PPC can be held against you if it gets before a judge (as court is the last resort)0 -
Thanks for the replies. In fact the last time this happened was 2012, so the past advice is outdated! I am expecting a ticket for outstaying a 4 hrs maximum so will engage with the process recommended.0
