HSBC PPI Claim Help

First post so please be kind.


So when I was a lot younger I took a few loans out and credit cards and thought i'd look into a PPI claim as there is a deadline.


I filled in HSBC online PPI enquiry form as this was where I took out my loans etc.

I have since had a reply back from HSBC and unsure of what my next step or even if I have a viable claim.

Basically their response gives me 5 policy numbers dated between 2000 and 2004.

Policy types are: 2 x Flexi loan protections and 3 x Personal Loan protection.
The information has my account number and start date.

Then there's a paragraph at the end with 2 x payment protection policy number saying these 2 were closed within the cooling off period and a refund made. However the 2 policy numbers in this paragraph don't match any of the 5 mentioned above.

and basically that's all the letter says apart from the usual contact us on this address etc etc.

So I'm assuming the 5 policy numbers I can make a claim against? otherwise thy would have said they were closed and paid off like the other 2?

I'm not up to date with all the PPI saga and any information would be really appreciated.
