New job maternity

Hi all
So I’m wanting to start trying for a section jd child but I also want to get a new job.
We are planning on trying starting next month but I’m looking for jobs now. If there’s a chance I get a new job this year or beginning of next am I likely to still get maternity pay still?
Thanks
Rach

For contractual maternity no one could tell you.
For statutory maternity you need to be employed for 26 weeks before the 15th week of your pregnancy, and earn aboveb the correct amount.0 -

Forgive me, whats a section jd child?
With regards to them maternity pay your unlikely to be entitled to stat maternity pay. To recieve stat maternity pay you need to earn over £116 a week, give the correct notice, give evidence of being pregnant and have worked for the employer for 26 weeks at the stage that is 15 weeks before the expected week of childbirth.
So youre looking at roughly needing to be employed for at least 41 weeks (give or take a week depending when things happen) before being legally entitled to maternity pay.
Youwill be entitled to maternity leave. You might be entitled to Maternity Allowance, which is a bit different.0 -
