UKPC parking charge

Hi there,
I have read the sticky post but still unsure as to what course of action to take.
The keeper has received a parking charge from UKPC (UK Parking Control Ltd) for parking in a McDonalds car park for over the 1 hour 30 mins allowed time.
Now the driver is not disputing the fact that they did this, they did. The car park in question was at a service station and they parked up, left the car and car shared for the rest of the journey. They have done this many occasions in the past and have always been fine. They can only assume that they have since put camera's in place and signage, which unfortunately they did not see (or think to look) this time around.
The keeper is looking for advice on what they should do with the parking charge letter, including any follow up letters etc, as they are unsure as technically the driver is in the wrong and not sure if they have a leg to stand on?
Any help would be appreciated.

First thing you must do is change from "I" to the keeper
Nobody you know was driving the car.
Reason being that these monkeys are let out of
their cage for a few hours each day and they
come here to read the forum0 -
As above, edit your post NOW to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.
Do this before you do anything else.
The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2015. Please tell us where you have read this dangerously inaccurate information so we can get it changed.I married my cousin. Hi both, thanks for the advice.
Fruitcake, they have possibly read the sticky post inaccurately (post 2 re. debt collectors) so apologies. I have edited the post.0 -
Are you saying there was a NTD left on the vehicle? If not, then you have misunderstood the difference between The Driver and The Keeper.
What has The Driver received?
What has The Keeper received?
Please bear in mind that these are two different people who may not have talked about the event to each other.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
A letter was received in the post to the keeper advising of the drivers actions. I have edited again0

What kind of service station was this?
What was the date of the alleged event and how many days after did the NTK arrive?
Have you sent the template from the NEWBIES yet?
If you are unsure of your next step you really need to go back and spend more time reading the NEWBIES. Make notes which parts are relevant and copy or print off the acronyms.
Please also note that the PPC may have been brought in to stop the car park being used as a park and ride, thus making The Driver part of the problem, and the reason why these scammers exist.I married my cousin. Hi Fruitcake, the service station was a McDonalds car park and the alleged event took place 2 weeks ago, with the NTK being received by the keeper 13 days later.
I have read the Newbies post again and the suggestion to the keeper, would be to send the template as the company is a BPA member however the keeper is unsure as to whether this is an worthy exercise due to fact the NTK details the duration of the stay and it has far exceeded the limit set by the maximum stay, along with corresponding photographs of entry and exit.0 -
either the keeper is determined to fight and win this on a T.K.O., or they suck it up and pay for the drivers stupidity in parking the keepers vehicle on private property without permission for a long period of time
the car parks are for patrons of the retailer etc, not a convenient place to park for free so they can car share to save money
that choice is for the keeper to make , but sometimes they are bang to rights !!! lol0 -
just a silly thought
the ticket is addressed to the car owner , its the owner that has committed the offence not the car
the driver entered and left the site twice , they did not stay over the 1 hr 30 mins0
