You could always just pay tax due

I’m glad you feel that people are all this naive. I pay the taxes I am due, I just feel the 3% surcharge is slightly unfair seeing as many before me (including your father) since a few years back didn’t have to pay this - I’m just looking for the same opportunity. I am willing to make an uneasy change to avoid it, it’s not like I’m going to fill in some paperwork ans be rid of it.

In addition I wouldn’t be so quick to judge - you don’t know what I do with my money, or how I help others with it besides the usual stream of ‘tax’.

But anyway - thanks again all, If I do see this through I’ll post an update in due time!

The rest of us aren't allowed to pick and choose which era of tax legislation we think ought to apply to us.

Good news, I've just spoken to the chancellor and he's cleared it for you, you don't have to pay the new SDLT. Only snag is, you now have to pay backdated income tax rates of 83%.
