I have been completely green and stupid.
Pcn issued Aug 2017 appealed to company as there was a ticket in the car but had dropped off windscreen not completely visable , copy of ticket supplied with reg no.rejected and now outside the (reduced rate )now £100 . Read online just ignore so did. Next correspondence was from bw about 6 months later once again ignored, and following letters. Then 26th of sept claim form received, 27th sept (notice of county court claim issued)letter received, both dated 25th . Green again thought I had 30 days . Judgement for claimant (in default) dated 18th Oct received. Have tried to pay online as had enough of the stress but doesn't recognise claim No. !! Debating getting judgement set aside and fighting but £255 is only a little less than claim.
Notice of county court claim
Principal debt £100
Interest £8.04
Court fees £25.00
Solicitors fees £110.00
Total £243.04
Claim form.
Amount claimed £168.04
Court fee £25.00
Legal reps costs £50.00
Total amount £ 243.03
Why are they set out different to reach same total ?
Judgement for claimant now £265.04
Any advice
Thanks

The pragmatic solution is to pay it. I think you would struggle to get a set aside as essentially it was your own tardiness that was the issue. That's not a criticism by the way.
Paying in full promptly will expunge the ccj from your credit history. Make sure you get good evidence of payment as it is up to you to inform the court you have paid and your responsibility to evidence the payment.
Once a company has your money they have no incentive to confirm anything to the court.0 -
It clearly states on the back of the Claim Form:Time allowed to reply to this claim
You must respond to this claim form within 14 days of the day of service (or particulars of claim if served separately) The attached forms may be used for that purpose. The day of service is taken as 5 days after the issue date shown overleaf. If you disagree with the claim or if you want to make a claim against the claimant (counterclaim)
You must send either the completed acknowledgment of service form or a defence to the court within 14 days of the date of service. If you send the acknowledgment of service you must send a defence to the court to arrive no later than 28 days from the date of service.
With a Claim Form Issue Date of 25th September - is that right? - you had to respond, with either an AoS or a Defence, by 15th October.
As you failed to do that the Claimant has asked for a Default Judgment against you.
You now need to pay the amount of that Judgment to the Claimant.
You also need to ensure that payment is made within the timescale stated on that Judgment Notice to avoid your credit rating being damaged for the next six years.0 -
