I had a mortgage protection with Woolwich building society. Would I be able to claim PPI from these payments?

Did your morgage protection plan have PPI on it? (the term "mortgage protection" could cover life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection and/or MPPI).
Was your mortgage protection plan missold?
