Bare trusts

I noticed you posting on the F&C thread too. If investing with them is an option you are considering then they (like most Investment Trusts) make setting it up as a Bare Trust extremely easy. It's just a matter of filling in a couple of extra boxes in the application form and you are done.
You have their range of funds to choose from and switch between.
Have looked at F&C and Baillie Gifford - seems ITs are one of the few places you can easily hold either designated accounts or set up Bare Trusts these days. Baillie Gifford seem to be marginally cheaper (no annual fee) and have a wider range of funds, indeed their Managed Fund is not dissimilar to VLS80 and just as cheap if held in their Children's plan.0 -
Yes I hold a Bare Trust with Baillie Gifford and a CTF with F&C so you won't see any argument from me!Have looked at F&C and Baillie Gifford - seems ITs are one of the few places you can easily hold either designated accounts or set up Bare Trusts these days.
