Hotel Refusing Refund

Hello, I hope you can help. I live in Ireland and I made a booking through Booking.Com for a place in S!!!!horpe, UK called Kirks Korner Motel. I paid upfront for a room for 3 nights for myself and my daughter. The room was fully refundable with no cancellation costs. I was then alerted by friends who live in the area that it was a bit dodgy. So I cancelled the next day. This was on 25 September. I still haven't received my refund. I have called the Motel (they now disconnect my call when I ring), and have texted and called the Manager (who ignores my calls). I have gone through Booking.Com but the problem we're having is that my bank (bank of ireland) don't have access to Merchant name information. Even when we were on holiday in the UK in the summer we paid for everything on our card at numerous establishments and NONE have come up with a merchant name, only the date of transaction, whether it was debit card payment, amount paid in local currency and the exchange rate. This is the case with this booking. So I provided Booking with full bank statements from the whole of September and October. Proof of my booking and amount paid, plus date and time of transaction. Then date of cancellation. Booking say it doesn't prove I paid Kirks Korner Motel. But there was NO OTHER international payment made during September or October, or any refund gone back into my bank. It was only 151.50euro, but because of it I've had to cancel my trip as the refund was supposed to pay for a different hotel. After a year of perfect BP, I'm now back on medication due to all the stress this is causing. All I want is my money back. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Are you not able to raise a claim through your bank?0

Is your BoI card a Visa or MasterCard debit card?
Do chargeback rules (a voluntary scheme provided by Visa and MasterCard) apply in Ireland?0 -
Blimey I didn't realise that those "by the hour" motels really existed in the UK. That's one if I ever saw one.0

How did you cancel the hotel?
I only ask as I've cancelled hotel bookings both where I've prepaid and haven't which have been made through Booking.com and on all occasions, I've received a confirmatory email regarding the cancellation and on the occasion that I prepaid the hotel, had an email confirming the refund.
However this was done all through the booking.com website as was the payment (how did you make the payment as again, the payment was made on the booking.com website.0 -
