Historic Business Bank charges

Hi there,
Currently doing a bit of research for my dad around charges he incurred when he had his business in the 90s.
He was with Barclays and he claims that he was charged extortionate interest charges for overdrafts and told him that the only way he could continue his overdraft is if he turned the amount into a loan, obviously it’s all verbal but do I have a case to try and gain something for him. My dad had cancer a few years back and he believes the stress of the charges and pressure contributed to this so it’s kinda something he’d like to know if he has a case so he can rest a bit more as always felt he was being conned!

It is common to transfer overdrafts to loans as the interest rates are lower.but do I have a case to try and gain something for him.
