For keeping abreast, Citywire has a number of short and digestible news outlets. Sign up for email alerts and choose the articles you want to read from the headlines or skip them as you wish

Thanks Coldiron, looks very informative.0

Trustnet for fund updates. Beware using the articles as the only way to choose funds, they tend to be highlighting a handful of funds compared to sector averages which may not be the best performers but nevertheless worth reading.0

In addition to Citywire, Trustnet.
Investors Chronicle
Reuters
UK Finance - News in Brief
Read
Quality newspapers (at your local library for free).
Plenty of books available from your local library also.

Watch
Quality TV programmes
You never stop learning. The more informed you become. The better you'll rationalise your own investment decisions.0 -
I see no need to keep abreast of the latest financial news as by the time i receive it, it will be too late to make any cunning sells or buys to keep ahead of everyone else. I reckon you are better off not reading it as its just likely to make you behave like one of the herd.0

I find writers in the City pages of the Telegraph on a Monday often have interesting things to say that don't get much coverage elsewhere.
I've not seen it in ages, but the personal finance section of the FT on Saturdays used to be the best around.
As an experiment why don't you look at those two for the two or three weeks after the Budget?Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
I think the Saturday FT is about 4 quid now !!!!!! Still as someone said above, try your local library, assuming they aint shut down !I find writers in the City pages of the Telegraph on a Monday often have interesting things to say that don't get much coverage elsewhere.

Reuters, Trustnet, Seeking Alpha, Business Insider and MarketWatch seem to be my go to online.0 -
Yes, and CNBC too,and if cost is an issue (4quid FT etc) you can get a Satellite set up (for Bloomers and CNBC) for say less than 100 quid as a one off investment.MaxiRobriguez wrote: »Bloomberg on TV.
