Exploding shower door....

  • Just to update this, Plumbworld have agreed to replace the shower door FOC. They stated from the pictures they couldn't tell if it was an impact or 'spontaneous' incident so are sending out a new one as a good will gesture.

I would have thought with the glass being both in and outside the shower (pretty much everywhere in fact) and that it happened at 4am, it would be pretty obvious that it wasn't impact but i'm still pleased they're replacing it, goodwill or otherwise. :)
  • This is an interesting thread. A self 'exploding' shower door is something I would never imagine. However, as I researched there could be many reasons why self shattering glass shower door is a reality.
As mentioned in the question getting it covered is one thing. However, I feel the real issue is to find out why it happened.
Also, know that a knock at the corner of the tempered glass also could make it in to pieces.
Curious to see what the manufacturer has to say. And hope you get the shower door replace as those are not cheap!

Our glass worktop saver exploded last year. I came home after work and glass was just everywhere in the kitchen.

I would hope the OP had got the door sorted after many months.
