does anyone have any suggestions where i could invest a regular amount of money each month so save for christmas 2008? a few of us got together and put a total of £250 per month away for 12 months, this has just been paid back £3000 + £114 interest. I am wondering if there are any better rates? It looks like we earned less than 4p per pound.

Why not go for Skipton Building Society's Xmas Saver 2 account paying 7.55%. You can save between £10 - £250 per month. They give you access to your funds on 25th November 2008, just in time for Christmas spending.

Thanks for that Kazza242, have you any idea how much interest money i would actually get if i deposited the same as i have done this last year. Why not go for Skipton Building Society's Xmas Saver 2 account paying 7.55%. The interest does vary slightly depending on what date of the month you make oyur deposits. A basis rate taxpayer would make approximately £98 - £100 net interest. A non taxpayer would make around £122 gross interest.
Check out the Smile Bank calulators which I use when I'm in a hurry. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
