Still not understanding why you think its ok to pay a 'mother' committing fraud by pretending to be her 'main carer' just because she is almost 19, or 'an adult now'? - I'm saying pay what you owe. Let the state worry about where it goes
In the eyes of the CMS she is not an adult which is why I am still paying for her. If she is classed as an adult why does the money not go direct to our daughter?

    Because these are backdated payments

I am sure if you are a tax-payer you already are, as im sure various other claims are being made

    Indeed

If you want to pay, pay. Does it matter where the money goes now? Your daughter is 19!

I suspect because you're on a higher income.

Then again I pay more than that, and my current role isn't particularly well paid...

Backdated payments made to someone who has not lived with her and been main carer for 16-17 years? Surely this makes any benefit claim null and void and the grandparents need to submit their own claim?

If her mother is entitled to benefits then so must I be, as she is in exactly the same position as me where our daughters care is concerned.

So you have no better morals than your ex?...

    Are you for real?!

I'm not saying that I am just stating that she has no more right to child benefits than I do, and not only is she getting payments from me but she is also not being asked for any contribution herself.

Forget your ex. Concentrate on YOUR DAUGHTER.

    I hope so.

Theres a young woman in all this, who was abandoned by her mum, and now her dad wants a DNA test.

THINK ABOUT HER. Be the better parent.

I've already asked for the DNA test now, I cant take that back, but now its out there I think it would be good for us both to know.

I understand what you are saying about letting the authorities worry about where the money is going, but the fact is THEY DONT. They are just happy someone is paying and that to me is wrong and I will continue to fight it.

I hope one day you stop and realise how much of your life you have wasted on this pointlessness quest.

    Apologise to your daughter.

    Apologise to your daughter.

    I am already starting to see the quest is pointless through lack of any action although I have read this from Gov.uk;

"Child maintenance payments usually stop when the child reaches 16 (or 20 if they’re in full-time education up to A-level or equivalent).
Child maintenance can also stop if, for example:
the child stops being eligible for Child Benefit
the parent being paid stops being the child’s main carer
the parent being paid doesn’t want it any more
    either parent dies
the paying parent is eligible for the ‘nil rate’, eg because they’re a student or a prisoner"

Like I said I will continue the fight.
