"Victim of impersonation" CIFAS mark on credit file

From what I understand the red flags get triggered, partially, by the information one puts in application forms which then get compared by National hunter against their own database that holds information from previous applications etc.
I understand the arguments raised thus far, I also understand that what kind of a fraudster (assuming he even has access to the victims address to steal his mail) would use the victims real phone and email to impersonate him? It only takes a rational observer to see that the likelihood of impersonation is very small. An impersonator is doing something to make something out of it and the last thing he would want is for the victim to find out.
If the information used were different than the ones held by fraud prevention agencies then I would completely understand Virgins reluctance.0 -
Could you perhaps take original ID into a virgin money store, they can copy and do whatever they need to do in terms of certifying it, then send it on ?
This would avoid paying for certifying documents, and negate the risk of them being lost in post0
