ParkingEye Private PCN in hospital

Hi guys.

I know... I am terribly sorry, and I apologise profusely for bringing a new level of newbishness to the forum. I have read over the Newbie thread, and while it is comprehensive and covers all aspects of private PCN’s, my aforementioned inability to garner the relevant details needed to successfully appeal these PCN’s renders me going over old ground.
So I apologise in advance.

A week after moving house (as if this alone isn’t stressful enough), my nan was admitted to Barnet General hospital and it was touch and go as to whether or not she would actually pull through or not.

In my frequent visits there, it would seem ParkingEye believe I now owe them 2 Penalty Charges; apparently it was more than just my nan that I have brought home.

On the first occasion, I had paid for a ticket and displayed it in my dashboard. Apparently I overstayed my welcome by 4 minutes at an inflated cost of £100 (or £60 in the next 5 days) - which I have no intention of paying.

The second alleged parking contravention was the day after, when I stopped in a designated loading bay for 35 mins.

Like I have said, I have done reading in the newbie thread, and a lot of talk is made of supermarkets and hospitals, namely Morrison’s, whereby people have gone in and complained to the store manager to help get them cancelled.

Who do I speak to in a hospital setting?

What steps should I take?

I have no intention to pay the PCN’s, and could do without the added stress of physically going to court, so I really want ParkingEye to drop these before getting to that stage - as I would like to unpack and set up my new home at some point.

Your help is greatly appreciated, and I am very thankful for your patience with this imbecile in dealings with private PCN’s.

    Hi, and welcome ...

"Who do I speak to in a hospital setting?"

    PALS ....

search grace periods for the first invoice ...

do individual appeals with the forum template at the same time as the PALS complaints ...

  • Thanks Ralphy...

To clarify - you mean this template appeal:

    Re PCN number:

I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement. There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn.

Since your PCN is a vague template, I require all photos taken, a clear image of the signage and an explanation of the allegation (e.g. if you have identified a wrong VRN input at a machine, say so, and explain why your Data Protection Officer has not simply rectified it, rather than trying to punish a driver for a matter where there is nothing to deter).

I will be making a formal complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner and to my MP, appraising all parties of the debate where Parliament agreed: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists...should not have to put up with this''. Firms of your ilk were unanimously condemned as operating an 'outrageous scam' (Hansard 2.2.18). The BPA & IPC were heavily criticised; hardly surprising for an industry where so-called AOS members admit to letting victims 'futilely go through the motions' of appeal and that 'we make it up most of the time' (BBC Watchdog).

    Formal note:
Should you later pursue this charge by way of litigation, note that service of any legal documents by email is expressly disallowed and you are not entitled to assume that the data in this dispute/appeal remains the current address for service.
    Yours faithfully,
